Short answer to the swimming pool question: a 3x5m pool that’s 1.2m deep would hold 529,411,765 drops! A drop of water weighs 34milligrams (0.034g) 1mil of water weighs 1g, which keeps things easy. There are 29.41176470588235 drops of water in 1ml. So that’s how I arrived at the calculations.

Now that Ive finally lived during the some of the time period you depict, I can see how much you distort the truth. Gillian Anderson is so over the top. she's a freaking parody of herself as Thatcher. The Iron Lady was quick & witty AF . Gillian sounds like she's grunting out an excruciating dump with every word. True Britons haven't forgotten that Thatcher's foresight in saving the £Pound Sterling was brilliant and key in securing any chance of The UK reclaiming its sovereignty- that is- if Boris the Globalist puppet can be stopped from selling Brexit down the river.

Thatcher sold council houses on the cheap, privatized state industries on the cheap, wasted £100bn of North Sea oil revenues on tax cuts, and then claimed there was some sort of economic revolution even though in retrospect her policies just made the rich richer at the expense of the nation. She set out to smash the unions, had no sympathy for the massive unemployment caused by her mismanagement, and didn't even care about the decline of manufacturing industry and the impact on the Northern communities it affected. The worst aspect was the "Big Bang" deregulation of the City which directly led to the reckless behavior of investment banks and the subsequent stock market crashes. Smoke and mirrors. She was a callous, arrogant, and self-serving idealogue who could not even understand why the poll tax was hated, and why she was detested by anyone not motivated by greed, selfishness, and the acquisition of power.

People need to understand the Crown is not a documentary series, ergo they don't want to do things EXACTLY the same. The director has said himself that he wants to put some creativity into it. If you want to see someone that looks exactly like Diana or Thatcher then go watch a documentary about them. They can't be carbon copies. All of them are doing an amazing job.

I did not like the way Thatcher was represented in The Crown. She was the first to understand that the government used to spend taxes not in Public Services but in the salaries from bureaucrats. There was no result oriented service and she made a revolution with the New Public Management by using performance indicators. But she is seen in the serie as a Bad Witch! I hated it... The people who wrote the serie have never studied Public Management. They have never studied economics. They DON’T know Milton Friedman, Hayek, Mises. They never read Adam Smith or Bastiat. I am really disappointed...

@StimParavane What she did was to end FAKE jobs payed with the money from people! Would you like me to do nothing to economy and YOU pay me with your work? She ended the irresponsabile public money to go to parasitic companies. And this type of public money spending is unsustainable. I am quite sure you are a socialist that likes the money from others. If people want jobs they have to be productive and that was what Margaret did. All the economic rates have improved and the british companies could really compete overseas. You forget that when you defend FAKE jobs for unproductive people you are creating a sentence of death because the money will END. Before Margaret, England only took more and more money from the USA and became very indebted!!!! And who pays for that? Poor people and Real workers who HAVE to be taxed for this incompetence from Government. But for socialists the money is not a problem in their weak minds. They think it is easy to get and they don’t associate with the family’s money gone through higher and higher taxes. And also with inflation that is really worse than unemployment. I really think people who doesn’t understand the importance of REAL jobs, competitiveness and productiveness are the most destructive people who makes everybody else poorer.

History can be looked at from different angles. It is not mentioned about Heseltine’s failed support for UK Westland Helicopters in 1986. After support was given by allegedly Thatcher and her Parliamentary aides in favour of a USA company, things appeared not to be the same. Support was still extremely strong for her by middle and upper class voters, who it could be said resided mainly in the South of England. Personally I feel her fall from grace was engineered by the cabinet Ministers she often changed - not unlike Trump - and the opposition’s wish to be in power

There are two mistakes in this piece. First, it wasn't the leadership election going to a second ballot that allowed Major and Hurd to enter, it was Thatcher resigning. Second, the Order of Merit is not the only honour given solely at the monarch's discretion. The Order of the Garter, the Order of the Thistle, and the Royal Victorian Order are as well.

The elites wanted Maggie out because she was against joining the Euro. The first thing John Major -- her successor -- did when he became PM was to join the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, shadowing the German mark, with a view of joining the Euro in 1999/2000. Unfortunately for the British Europhiles, 1992 happened and the UK, along with a few other countries, left the ERM. George Soros made a few billion as a consequence of the British peg to the German Mark being too high that couldn't be sustained.
