In the first episode, Anthony mentioned that he knew Simon from Oxford University - which they attended around 17/18 (I presume). In another scene, Anthony mentioned that Simon was his oldest friend, and they had been friends for 20 years. Yet, both men are in their late 20s. Considering Simon was isolated most of his childhood, a 20-year-friendship isn't possible. I haven't read the books, so was this just an oversight on the script writers part, or...?

I loved the “Girl Like You” classical cover, I’ve been playing it non-stop since my first binge... not really an Ariana Grande person. Netflix have backed a winner here, I just hope it isn’t like “The Tudors” Natalie Dormer was so incredible as Anne & people loved the chemistry of her & Henry. The interest just wasn’t really there going forward once she was, well you know... (I include myself in that) I’ll come back but this couple are captivating ❤️ brilliant casting! It would be nice to get to see more of them, even if they’re not the focal point next season.

I don't for a second think that Pen is Lady Whistledown. Why would it be revealed in the first season? And Whistledown herself said it is up to her if she reveals who she is and the way she reveals things is by writing. That's kinda too anticlimactic for Pen being her. So I don't think it is her. The reveal will shock everyone that did not. Prove me wrong by renewing for a season two that way I know we are one more season closer to her reveal. Lol is it just me who thinks this??

In the books its Pen so I suppose it will be the same for the series. The actress said in an interview that you could easily find that out by reading the last book of the series so its not really something they can keep a secret like with Gossip Girl for 8 seasons.

It scares me how many questions ask, if ... is real, or based on a real story. Just take a look at the cast. This is purely fictional and meant to entertain! If you want to watch an historic drama with more realism go and watch downtown Abby (which I highly recommend). Bridgestone is a show that fits perfectly, what Netflix is aiming for and the hype shows it works. But it also shows how fast people believe some things, because they are in a show.

I actually liked how they decided to flesh out Anthony. Even tho in the books Anthon's aversion to "love" was because he was certain he was going to die, the idea that him & his mistress had a deeper relationship isn't that far fetched. If you remember, even years after their marriage, Kate despised the Opera. Building Anthony up in this way prior to him meeting Kate gives his character more emotional depth. It will be interesting to see how he comes to terms with loving again AND his fears.
